Eventually returning to the USA and settling in San Francisco, Giorgina developed a fascination with the sea and sail, which motivate her to become a marine artist. Studying at the San Francisco Art Academy, she integrated her training, natural talent and love of sailing to have her work readily accepted among contemporary marine artist.
She eventually opened her own studio gallery along San Francisco's waterfront and it soon became a local landmark for marine enthusiasts.
Upon visiting Washington State, Gig Harbor was love at first sight where she relocated in 1993.
