ART BY LUKE FILMER
“The only thing I love more than fly-fishing
is creating fish art sculptures
or is it the other way around?”

During my childhood my father worked as an engineer for the National Park Service. This allowed me to grow up hiking and fishing in National Parks such as Yosemite, The Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, and many others. These were the places I called home. My experiences with nature instilled a kinship with wildlife and a passion for the outdoors. |
| As a child I spent hours sketching and painting wildlife, as well as focusing on my other hobby…FISHING. Through practicing my art, it became second nature for me to be able to recreate the beauty of these incredible subjects, which allowed me to turn my enthusiasm for fishing and painting into a lifestyle…and a living. |

Using a combination of mixed media, air-brush techniques and hand-painting, I create original fish art sculptures for my clients, art galleries, and commercial displays all over the country. I live and work in the small maritime community of Gig Harbor, Washington with my wife Carola and our four-legged son Ben.
