Although I have been drawn to the arts all my life, I was educated with a Bachelors Degree in Biology and Masters Degree in Secondary Science Education. It was only after the birth of my daughter that I began to paint full time enrolling in the Herizfeld School of Art in Wiesbaden, West Germany and graduated from their extensive five year program.
Upon returning to the States, I felt the old master technique somewhat heavy and embarked upon my adventure with watercolors The excitement and challenge of water media remain my main focus, but the lure of oils is starting to call me back.
My paintings hang in both public and private collections in Canada, England, Germany, Greece, Japan and the United States. Harcourt, Brace and Javanovitch Publishing Corporation purchased twelve major pieces which hang at Cypress Gardens, Florida.
As forsubject matter, nature has always been my main inspiration. I never tire of the beauty and trust that through the impressionist interpretation of what I see, viewers take pleasure in my work. However, I love the challenge of commissions as they offer me the chance to pursue subjects I might not have thought of otherwise. The wide variety of subject matter keeps me interested.
