ART BY MIKE NEIL

Pen & Ink

Mike Neil has been a Pen and Ink Artist since the mid 1980’s.  He has done freelance artwork, sold at shows and studios, and word of mouth.

Much of his work has been centered on wildlife because of who Mike is.  He spent 30 years as a Washington State Fish and Wildlife Officer and K-9 handler.

His artwork is done with drafting technical pens using India ink.  The drawing technique is called stippling where the artist applies tone and texture in small dots and scratches.

The depth of tone can be adjusted by varying the density and distribution of the dots.

The work is done on Bristol board which takes the ink without bleeding and leaves a crisp definition in the ink line giving the work an extreme detailed appearance.

It is difficult to calculate how many hours an art piece might take and depends on the size and detail.
You can view Mike Neil’s personal website at http://www.mikeneil.org
Enjoy the newest art and widest range of individual artist's original work providing the rare opportunity of seeing the artists in their studio environment and offering explanations and demonstrations of their materials and art process.

This is also a unique time to purchase fine art directly from the artists.
