Torrey James Lystra is an American painter of Dutch and Danish ancestry. He studied painting and drawing at the university of California at Santa Barbara where he received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1974. He worked on his masters in painting at San Diego State University.

He has been working for many years on his "Sacred Way" series and that is the theme for this years show.

These forms come in all sizes on panel, canvas and paper. They draw from impressionism and abstract expressionism to convey his ideas on consciousness and our relationship to the world.
